L’homme de Hus
- Direction, Choreography and Cast: Camille BOITEL
- Photo: OLIVIER CHAMBRIAL
Notorious in France for his theatrical “Contemporary circus”-based productions, enfant terrible Camille Boitel returns to the Tokyo Metropolitan Theatre after two years with L'homme de Hus. Premiered in 2003, this legendary unrepeatable performance transcends dance, contemporary circus, acrobatics, and art itself. While absurd in the manner of caricature or silent cinema, L'homme de Hus ultimately transports its spectators to the lofty world of poetic sentiment.

Artist Profile
Self-taught in circus technique from a young age, Camille Boitel began as a street performer, later studying at Fratellini Academy, France's most prestigious circus school. He distinguished himself commencing his professional activities under the wing of James Thierrée, the flag-bearer of France's contemporary circus. Boitel founded Compagnie L'Immédiat in 2002 and won the inaugural Jeunes Talents Cirque Concours the same year. Since then, he has created work fusing many genres, winning the Prix MIMOS prize at France's eminent Mimos International Festival of Mime and Physical Theater for his company's eponymous show L'Immédiat in 2010.
